Don't know why I bother, but...

Boy howdy did I accomplish many great things yesterday.

First of all I woke up ten minutes before the wonderful McDonald's breakfast ending time - allowing enough time to brush teeth, put on bra, and rush over and get two sausage biscuits. And a senior coffee.

Mmmmmmmmm. I love my internal alarm clock and heart attacks.

So - yeah - that was only in like the first half hour.
Then Brittany and I watched TWO episodes of ANTM - the cycle in which Danielle won.

Kathryn and Jessie came over. We made cookies while watching THE worst movie of all time: Simply Irresistable. It almost isn't funny it's so bad. But then it is. A magic crab makes Sarah Michelle Gellar a good cook and she falls in love with a guy she saw once and then they float and then the magic crab is mysteriously wearing a top hat. I wish I could find a picture of the crab in the top hat. Alas no.

Here's the best I could do:

Ok, so imagine away the racist statuette and make it an animatronic crab and you get the picture.

Then we watched another not great movie (though on a whole different - better - level): Run, Fatboy Run.

Away to ACU campus we went to watch the Def Poetry Jam poets perform. It was amazing. Liza Jessie Peterson, Steve Connell, and Bruce George. Better than any sermon I've heard in years. Standing and applauding. Standing and applauding. Amazed at how people could say things that I've felt and thought in ways I never ever could dream.

I wish I was a poet and didn't know it and all that bullsheeeet.

Then Seth, Kathryn, Jessie and I just happened to go to the same taqueria as the Def Poets and Matt and Sarah and the crew. Tried to talk to them but was way too nervous. Especially with Liza. THEN watched I Know Who Killed Me starring Lindsy Lohan - the OTHER worst movie of all time. THEN played Twilight Princess with Seth. Then went to bed at 5:00 AM.

    What a day.

PS Steve is coming to our Jef Dam poetry after party tonight and you should, too.

    Don't Stop Wasting People's Time.

    Mashmushsquish bananas.
Put in pot. Boil with some (no need for further explanation, you know how many cups "some" is) water.
Add 1/5 of pectin. Just 1/5.
Add sugar in keep with bananas.

Banana Jam. Banana Jelly. Unclassifiable, illegal, Arundhati Roy gummy oddity.

    I made banana jam/jelly tonight.

This was after spending all of my afternoon filling out busy work for Nutrition: supposed to have been logging my food intake/exercise output this semester and analyzing all of what I take in.
75 pages of how many grams of what vitamins and what percentage of fluid needs met.
    All afternoon.
The best day of the year. I could have been out ACTUALLY biking in the cool sunny day.
Instead I sat IN the library all afternoon filling out papers, lying about how many times I bike and walk a day.
After doing my false "middle-of-the-semester-look-now-I've-improved-my-eating-and-exercising" worksheets I actually started to believe that I had really improved my eating habits and started exercising for an hour a day.
    I became proud of myself.
Then I realized that while one hand was writing down how many cups of 100% fruit juice I had drank today, my other hand was holding an ice cream sandwich that I ate soon after a PersonalPanPizzaHutFusionPizza.
    Shame, Lara. Shame.
